I am an experienced counsellor with a diploma in humanistic integrative counselling and I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I worked in Advertising in the past which was not enough for me, I wanted to work with people to try to help them resolve their difficulties.  This led me to qualify as a social worker working mainly with elderly people and people with addictions. Also people with mental and physical health problems.  This work made me realise how much counselling could help my clients and that my skills and enthusiasm could be better used as a counsellor.

I now have my own private practice near home and I work at a GP surgery. I have very much enjoyed running groups for mental health clients. I have also run anger management groups and helped to co-ordinate a group for over fifties to build self esteem and confidence. I currently co-ordinate activities for people with dementia at a care home.

I have always enjoyed voluntary work in the community. Firstly I worked with the elderly helping people with mental health difficulties adjust to life at home after discharge from hospital.  Over the last seven years I have been a volunteer counsellor providing bereavement services and I have worked with a local charity providing counselling for underprivileged people.
